Norwegian Association of Heavy Equipment Contractors (MEF) is the largest independent trade and employers' organization, representing approximately 1,960 small, medium-sized and large businesses in the construction trade and three associated industries, mechanical deforestation, waste recycling and treatment and well drilling.
In all, MEF member companies have approximately 27,000 employees and approx. NOK 52 billion in annual revenues.
Board and elected leader
MEF is lead by a board of eight members (Hovedstyret) representing six geographic regions and the three associated industries. MEFs leader is elected by the Congress for a period of two years. Current leader, elected 2008 and reelected 2010, is Mr. Arnstein Repstad.
